Abstract - This style of art exists purely for the purpose of expression. The most basic definition of abstract art is that it is not "Realist".

Abstract art covers a very wide genre of art and can be divided into various subcategories including Cubism, the depiction of an object from various perspectives on one canvas, and Fauvism, which incorporates the use of bright colors and obtuse forms with spontaneity.

Abstract art is a complete detachment from reality and concrete detail, but the artists actually do have a subject in mind or physically in front of them when they paint. Color, line and form are the basic instruments used in producing abstract art, and can be simplified or exaggerated from the natural form of the composition.
